Ajmer is bustling city, located 130 km southwest of Jaipur and just 14 km from the pilgrimage town of Pushkar. The city of Ajmer gets its name from “Ajay Meru”, which can be roughly translated as “invincible hill”. Home to a number of tourist places, Ajmer can be a perfect representation of the diversity of the Indian culture and ethics, and displays a perfect blend of religion, community, culture, etc., coexisting and flourishing in harmony. Ajmer remains a popular tourist attraction, in addition to being a pilgrimage centre for both Hindus and Muslims. The final resting place of the Sufi Saint, Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chisti, is visited by Muslims from all over the world; in fact, the Dargah is revered equally by both Hindus and Muslims. The Ajmer Sharif Dargah

This is a Sufi shrine which encloses the ‘maqbara’ (grave) of Garib Nawaz, the Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chishty. Built in the 13th century, the shrine is popular among people of all faiths who flock here to have their prayers answered.

Ana Sagar Lake

The well-known man-made lake Ana Sagar was constructed by Maharaja Anaji between 1135 to 1150 AD, the ancestor of Maharaja Prithviraj Chauhan. Later the Mughal rulers made some further modifications to enhance the lake and it is one of the best places to visit in Ajmer

Adhai-Din Ka Jhonpra

Beyond the Dargah of Khwaja Mu'in al-Din Chishti, on the town outskirts, are the extraordinary ruins of the Adhai-din-ka-Jhonpra mosque and it is one of the famous places to visit in Ajmer. According to legend, construction in 1153 took only two-and-a-half days.

Nasiyan Jain Temple

Nasiyan Temple, constructed in 1865 is located at Prithvi Raj Marg in Ajmer. It is also known as Lal Mandir (Red Temple) devoted to Lord Adinath, the first Jain 'Tirthankara', the temple is a two-storied building and it is one of the best Ajmer tourist places.

Ajmer Government Museum

Nestled within the legendary Akbari Fort, Ajmer Government Museum is among the most sought-after historical places in Ajmer. Established in the year 1908, the Museum preserves a staggering collection of artefacts related to the reign of the Mughal Emperor Akbar.
